Kari Annand
Owner; Principal
With over 15 years in private practice, Kari specializes in the intersection of law and technology, with experience navigating technology agreements and counseling clients on general intellectual property, marketing, copyright, internet, privacy, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and e-commerce issues. Kari’s clients include start-up, mid-size and multinational software and service companies in a large number of verticals, including enterprise software, consumer products, video games, healthcare, and publishing.
Kari received her J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. in Writing at The Johns Hopkins University. She is licensed to practice in Washington. Her hobbies include traveling, exercising, hiking and spending time with her husband and beloved "supermutt," Tulip.

Michelle Theret
Associate
Michelle Theret has a technology transactions and product counseling practice. Michelle brings a unique skill set to the table, coupling several years of general procurement and software licensing expertise with legal counseling expertise. Prior to joining Annand Technology Law, Michelle worked in a high volume, fast-paced procurement organization for a travel corporation, negotiating on average between 40-65 licensing agreements at any given time, expertly managing numerous drafts and communicating with internal partners to provide basic legal review and understanding of each agreement. Michelle has negotiated hundreds of SaaS, EULA, and various other licensing arrangements, providing guidance on key risk/exposure elements in each initiative.

Michelle received her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature; Political Science at Xavier University. She is licensed to practice in Washington and North Carolina.

Lori Kit
Office Manager
Lori Kit has worked as an office manager/administrator, bookkeeper, and administrative assistant in the legal field for 35 years. She holds an AA in Business from the Atlanta College of Business. She was an LPO and Escrow Officer for Transamerica Title and a small Bellevue law firm. Lori has taught pre-certification classes for the Eastside Chapter of the National Association for Legal Secretaries.
Active in her community, Lori has served on various citizen committees for the City of Redmond including the Redmond Board of Park Commissioners, the Redmond Youth Partnership Advisory Committee (RYPAC), the North Redmond Neighborhood Advisory Committee; she has held board positions on various community organizations including the Redmond Garden Club, the Redmond Parks Legacy Committee, and the Redmond North Little League.
